Book Expo America

Book Expo America - the first show of our 'season'... Open to the trade only, this show moves around to different locales - this year it was held in New York City, at Javits, last year it was in Chicago, and next year, it'll be in DC...

Though it had a rocky start - none of the items we ordered arrived in quite the right format, and since we weren't as big a booth as others, we weren't getting any service - we were able to get everything presentable by the time the show started... We had a great location, a 10' x 20' in between Houghton Mifflin & Penguin, though unfortunately, many people who were just passing through thought we were a part of Penguin (their sign exceeded height limitations!)... Sigh...

For all you attendees - they key to surviving Book Expo - run around the first day, get as many bags from the various publishers as possible, so you can haul your book goodies (all publishers have someting book related to give away, some being final product, others being galleys) home!
