London

I was in London for just three days, in which I spent about half of the time in museums and the other half wandering, eating, and relaxing. Overall quite fun, albeit expensive (thanks mostly to the exchange rate). Although I don't have photos, probably the best meal (both in terms of food and price/performance) was at St. John's Bread and Wine.

The quite impressive looking Natural History Museum.

The Bramah Museum of Tea and Coffee (it's not as big as it looks).

Unfortunately photography was not allowed in the Museum of Tea and Coffee, but here's a shot of the 'Museum' (in the background) taken from the tea room. I had just enjoyed a buttered crumpet (mmm!) and couple of pots of Rose Congou tea -- which might explain why the photo is so blurry.

Sunset in London (very close to the Gainsborough Hotel in South Kensington).

Queensberry Place (The Gainsborough Hotel is in the middle of the block on the right hand side). All the way at the end is the Natural History Museum.

Baker Street. The first thing you see out of the subway is an imposing statue of Sherlock Holmes.

img 1387

The famous Madame Tussaud's wax museum and London Planetarium. Although the wax museum was quite nice (and many of the figures quite lifelike) the Planetarium was a disappointment. There was a single ticket for both, so I suppose I don't feel too bad.

The Dali Universe Exhibition. A pretty nice collection of paintings, sketches, sculptures, and quotes of Salvador Dali.
