What's open in downtown Mountain View, CA right now?
Note: These are the basic menus that I've collected over the years. Prices may be a bit higher since I got the menus, but they should essentially be the same. FYI - some restaurants may offer items that are not a part of the menu (aka Satsuma's specialty rolls).
- Amarin Thai Cuisine (1, 2, 3)
156 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-988-9323 Lunch M-Sa 11AM to 3PM, Dinner Daily 5PM to 10PM
- Amici's East Coast Pizzaria (1, 2)
790 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-961-6666

- Cam Hung Sandwiches & Cafe (1, 2)
903 Reed Avenue, Sunnyvale, 408-735-8989 M-F 7:30AM to 6PM, Sa 7:30AM to 4PM Fast, cheap, most of all, good Vietnamese sandwiches...
- Casa Lupe (1, 2)

- Fu Lam Mun Seafood Restaurant (1, 2, 3)
246 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-967-1689 Daily 11AM to 2:30PM, 5PM to 12AM This restaurant specializes in seafood. That said, I would recommend that you don't order out for anything that's going to be really delicate, like steamed live fish... Oh, and stay away from the Beef Steak in Black Pepper Sauce - though it tastes pretty yummy, the presentation leaves a bit to be desired (the cut is weird, and the pieces of beef are really big)... Other than that (so far, at least), experiment away!
- Giovanni's New York Pizzeria (1, 2, 3, 4)
1127 Lawrence Expressway at Lakehaven, Sunnyvale, 408-734-4221 M-Sa 11AM to 9:30PM They really do have New York style pizza...
- Hangen Szechuan Restaurant (1, 2)
134 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-964-8881 Lunch M-F 11:15AM to 2:30PM, Sa-Su 11:30AM to 2:30PM; Dinner Su-Th 5PM to 9:30PM, Fr-Sa 5PM to 9:45PM For those of you hankering for good East Coast-style Americanized Chinese food, I've been told that the American chicken here is the best (aka Sesame Chicken)... Also good is their DBCSS (Dry Braised Chicken in Szechuan Style)... To be fair, they do have good renditions of other stuff as well (try Yellow Bird, for instance)...
- Man Bo Duck Restaurant (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
360 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-961-6635 M-Th 11AM to 2:30PM, 5PM to 12AM; Fr-Sa 11AM to 1AM; Su 11AM to 12AM The best congee, and the most non-meddled with beef chow fun on Castro... A good all-around Cantonese place, and it doesn't hurt that they're open past 10 everyday...
- Pasta? (1)
160 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-938-4147
- Pho Hoa (1, 2, 3, 4)
220 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-969-5805

273 Castro Street, Mountain View, 650-960-0580 Su-Th 11AM to 9:30PM, Fr-Sa 11AM to 10PM Queen House is great for 'basic' Chinese food - I tend to go there a bunch when I have a hankering for non-Americanized food... They also have a bunch of Taiwanese specialties...
- Satsuma Japanese Restaurant (1, 2, 3)
705 E. El Camino Real, Mountain View, 650-966-1122 M-F 11AM to 2PM, 5PM to 10PM; Sa-Su 5PM to 10PM

1121 Tasman Drive at Lawrence Expressway, Sunnyvale, 408-734-2792 M-F 10:30AM to 8PM, Sa 11AM to 5PM Mmmm... Cheesesteak... What more need I say?
- Tainan/South Taste (1, 2, 3)
10825 North Wolfe Road #220 (Ranch 99 Complex), Cupertino, 408-446-9488 Their soup dumplings (also known as Shanghai soup dumplings) are to die for, though probably not as good for take out. Also good are the Simmered Egg (#7), House Made Cucumber (#8), Deep Fried Tofu (#20), Sauteed Eel Noodle (#102)... If you go there in person to eat, don't be put off by their looks - the owners run a basic operation that emphasizes the food.
