Food

Jason & I went to French Laundry last month with a few friends... That was such an experience. It took me a week to get a reservation for a month in advance (Open Table, you are my friend!). The food was amazing, atmosphere & service impeccable... Yes, it was expensive ($135 for the 9-course chef's tasting menu, $115 for the regular 5-course menu & vegetarian menu), but everyone should try it at least once in their lifetime. It was worth every penny...

On the local side, here's some of menus I've collected. All are good for takeout, of course, but some of them are quite nice to visit to as well.

Wine

Jason & I have been collecting wine since 1998, when we first got introduced to wine by some of our friends... We have about 200 bottles now, mostly zin & cab/cab blends... We're trying to cut back on our purchasing, but it's oh so hard! There's a lot of good stuff out there!

Of course if you're in SF for any extended period of time, you should take a day trip to Sonoma or Napa counties... Here are some of our favorite wineries... Also, don't forget Ridge Vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains (they have another location in Sonoma, though we tend to visit the one in Santa Cruz since it's closer to home)... They make an awesome cab blend called Montebello, as well as zins... Occasionally they'll have wines made from other varietals - we particularly like their carignane...

Tea

I don't usually get to enjoy tea. I mean, I drink tea all the time, really, at work, at resturants. But there's not really an opportunity to savor the tea...

I would love to open a teahouse at some point later on in life. Something like the Imperial Tea Court - my friends & I love that place! Mayhaps they franchise?

Here's the teapots I've collected, as well some of the teas I drink...
